In Autumn 2 we focused on inclusivity through positive relationships and linked this to Anti-Bullying Week. We learnt how to listen to other people and play and work cooperatively both in class and in the playground. We talked about strategies to resolve simple arguments through negotiation. We re-visited how to recognise bullying both in person and on-line and discussed the nature and consequences of teasing and bullying including how to respond and ask for help. In KS1 we read the books ‘Frog and the stranger’ by Max Velthuijs and ‘Is it because … ‘ by Tony Ross to help us to support us to explore and understand these themes. We linked our ASPIRE focus this half term to the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child Article 2- Non-discrimination, Article 19 – protection from bad treatment and Article 29 right to an education which develops my personality, respect for others' rights and the environment.
