Guidance for parents and carers on supporting their children’s education during coronavirus (COVID-19)
The Hackney Local Offer has a tab which informs parents and carers of children with Special Educational Needs or latest news in relation to local services and some resources to support during school closures.
Reducing School Worry
Our school counsellor, Miss Mattos, has put together a booklet for parents to use if their children are showing signs of anxiety about returning to school.
Educational Psychology Service Telephone Advice Line
The Educational Psychology Service is offering a telephone advice line for parents and carers during the period of school closure. This is open to all families living in Hackney who would like support and advice. It offers an opportunity to talk about your child/children with an educational psychologist for up to 30 minutes on our phone line.
We can help by talking through your concerns, making suggestions for practical activities, sending resources, signposting to other services, answering questions and generally helping you to think about ways to support your child/children across a wide range of areas.
The service runs from 10am-1pm and 2pm-4pm on Wednesdays on 020 8820 5719.
Settings are asked to please share details with families. Further information can be found on the Hackney Services for Schools website.
