Spaghetti Spaghetti!

Year 1 have been learning about poetry this week and reading a poem called 'Spaghetti Spaghetti!'  To get ready to read the poem we felt and ate spaghetti and thought of lots of different words to describe it - wibbly, stringy, yummy, delicious!

Year 1 have been learning all about poetry in Power of Reading. We have been reading, performing and writing poems all week! Yesterday we created stormy sea paintings and then created poetry using descriptive vocabulary.

The children recited the poems 'Spaghetti Spaghetti' by Jack Prelutski and 'Busy day' by Michael Rosen. They worked in small groups to add actions and expression to their reading!

Look at our 'Stormy Sea' art poetry! We used music, poetry and painting to inspire our writing!

Year 2 have been reading lots of different types of poetry! We have been adding in actions and changing the tone and volume of our voices to fit the poem. Soon we hope to know poems off by heart!
