Choosing the next step in your child’s education is a huge responsibility for any family. It is important that you examine your preferred schools carefully and consider their admissions criteria in order to make the right choice for your child. We’re pleased that you, like so many other local parents/carers, have made Hackney schools your preferred choice.
We have excellent schools in Hackney offering a rich curriculum and strong attention to personal development: 95% of secondary children are in schools rated as good or outstanding by Ofsted. Hackney schools, collectively, are in the top quarter nationally on all of the main key secondary school measures, including Progress 8 and Attainment 8 (measures of how well our pupils do in eight GCSEs including core subjects).
Hackney Education is committed to supporting the best possible education for our young people. We work closely with schools to ensure they keep improving and that they give all children the best possible start in life. How to apply
Please be aware that the final deadline for applying for secondary school places is 31st October. We strongly suggest that you aim to complete this a few weeks before the deadline in case of any problems.
If you need help logging into your online application or registering to apply online you can contact the London eAdmissions support helpdesk on 020 8255 5555 (option 1 or 4) or support@eadmissions.org.uk.
The process is all online – if you cannot complete this online, please contact Hackney Learning Trust on 020 8820 7000 (option 3) or email secondary.transfer@hackney.gov.uk.
